What Sex Therapy is Not…

  • Sex Therapy does not involve physical touch, nudity, or sexual behavior between client(s) and therapist. You may have home assignments that involve touch or nudity, but never in session (or out of session) between clinician and client.

  • Sex Therapy does not involve shame or judgement.

  • Sex Therapy is based on consent: there is no pressure for you to do or say anything you are not comfortable with.

Why Sex Therapy…

Sex is not only about functioning and frequency. It is about learning about your sexual self—your unique erotic flavor, textures, needs, and desires—how you want to share and connect with another and who you are in relationship with another.

Relationship Counseling-

Common Issues

  • Not listening to one another

  • One or both of you feel consistently dissatisfied with the other

  • There are feelings, needs, and wants that are difficult to express

  • You feel like you’re both drifting apart

  • Past trauma by both or one partner that inhibits intimacy & vulnerability

  • Past or current infidelity issues

  • Libido differences/conflict

  • Parenting Issues

  • Cultural and/or religious differences

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy can be incredibly healing. Often times, working on ourselves before engaging in a relationship or bringing your partner to therapy, helps to “sift” through what we really want for ourselves.

Many individuals also feel more comfortable diving into sex related topics with their therapist before having a partner join the conversation.

My work with teens who are discovering their sexual identity, self-confidence, and strengthening their mental health often benefit from individual therapy versus family-based. However, I am happy to provide a consult on the potential of a parent/teen session.
